Microsoft has opened up registration for Project xCloud (Preview), the technical test for their cloud streaming service. Project xCloud (Preview) will be available by invite only to those who register in the United States, United Kingdom, and South Korea. Project xCloud will stream games over Wi-Fi to an Android device, but the service is also being optimized, Choudry says, for specific telecom companies in each region. Specifically, Project xCloud will stream best over data with T-Mobile in the U.S., Vodaphone in the U.K., and SK-Telecom in Korea. Preview testers will be able to stream Gears 5, Sea of Thieves, Killer Instinct, and Halo 5: Guardians.
To be eligible to play the Project xCloud (Preview), testers must have the following:
- Android Mobile Device: Version 6.0 or higher
- Xbox One Controller with Bluetooth
- Controller that came with an Xbox One S or Xbox One X, the Elite Series 2, or Design Lab Controller.
