Stadia Adds Touch Screen Controls, Android Support, and Resolution Settings

In a blog post today, Google announced several new features for the Stadia cloud streaming service.

First, Stadia now offers touch screen support on mobile devices. Simply launch any game without a controller connected, and you’ll be prompted to activate touch controls. However, it seems to not quite be implemented yet, at least not for me, so maybe give it a day to be available.

Stadia is now experimentally available for all Android devices. To play Stadia on your Android device, install the Stadia app then navigate to the Experiments tab in Settings inside of the app. Stadia is now also officially supported on a wide range of OnePlus devices, including the following:

  • OnePlus 5 and 5T
  • OnePlus 6 and 6T
  • OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7 Pro 5G, 7T, 7T Pro, 7T Pro 5G
  • OnePlus 8, 8 Pro

Finally, your game resolution can now be customized for each device on which you play Stadia. The feature is rolling out over the next few days, so once it’s available to you, you’ll be able to set your phone to play in 720p and your desktop to play in 1080p, for example.

Stadia Pro is currently available for free for one month. Visit Stadia.com to sign up for a free month of Pro and try eighteen included games.
